Copy of a poem by D. Solomos and its translation into English. The poet departs, together with his mother and two of his siblings, on a steamboat to Istanbul on the aftermath of the Urabi Revolt, for which young Cavafy provides a short analysis. Extensive reference to the members of the Fotiadis family. The narration covers the period 23/6-8/7/[1882].

              Typewritten letter by Charles Prentice (C. H. C. Prentice) to E. M. Forster on one side of two letterheads of the Chatto & Windus publishing house of London. The other sides are blank. Prentice, one of the partners of the publishing house, expresses his interest in the English publication of Cavafy's poems and details to Forster the financial terms proposed by their house. The letter is accompanied by two sheets with the handwritten addresses of Furness, of Forster and of the publishing house, by one sheet with the names of Furness and Forster as well as by two pieces of paper with the handwritten addresses of Mavrogordatos and The Hogarth Press publishing house.

              Handwriten notes on eight sheets of a notebook (most of which with text on both sides) as well as on one side of four small-size loose sheets. It is a record of thoughts, criticisms and episodes from Cavafy's life with date indications covering the period 28 March 1926-16 April 1930. Reference to the Grammata publishing house, to the journals Libre, Nea Zoi, Nea Techni, Panathinaia, Alexandrini Techni, Nea Epitheorisi and La Semaine égyptienne, to the newspapers I Proia, Tachydromos of Alexandria, Ethnos and The Times as well as to the Delphic Festival, the Nobel Prize, the work I politeia kai i monaxia by K. Palamas, the study O Palamas filosofos by D. Vezanis, the poem "Tragoudi gia tin Eleni" by S. Skipis and the books Skepsi kai zoi by A. Panagiotatou and [Ta gynaikeia pathi.] Afrodisia nosimata by A. Syngelakis. Eftychia Zelita is mentioned as having written down the notes. There is, however, a second handwritng, which is probably that of Makis Antaios, a person who appears to be reproducing the specific episodes.

Biographical notes, pertaining to the life, habits and social encounters of Cavafy. Also, information about the members of his family (parents and siblings). It appears that the notes were written after the poet's death and the information comes from Singopoulo's own knowledge as well as from the remains of Cavafy's belongings. Certain inaccuracies are observed, such as the poet's date of birth (1865 instead of 1863).
