The sender, a friend of Cavafy's according to him, announces the publication of a study on modern Greek poetry in La Nouvelle Revue Française, which will include a presentation of the poet's work. He asks Cavafy's permission to include in the study French translations of poems of his ("Waiting for the Barbarians", "Ithaca", "Walls"). The poet is also asked to send a series of poems and accompanying material to the author of the study, E. Eleftheriadis. Extensive reference to the friendly relations between sender and recipient.
