Dimitrios P. Charitatos was born in Alexandria (Egypt) in 1910. A polyglot, he studied Philosophy, Law and Political Science in Paris and in The Hague. He lived and worked in Alexandria, where he met Cavafy and joined his circle. He moved to Athens in 1962 and worked for the Aluminium of Greece and as a public relations consultant. He died in 1993.
