Paul expresses concern for the interruption of correspondence between the two brothers after 16 May, at which time the poet sent Paul a newspaper (La Réforme) and his personal diaries. He refers to various individuals from their social circle in Alexandria and London. He briefly comments on the political situation (whence the social change is perceived, with the example of England, in this case).
