Handwritten letter by Paul Cavafy to C. P. Cavafy from Hyères, France, on both sides of a letterhead. It is a reply to a letter by the poet, dated 21 September. Paul expresses his concern for his health and informs his brother on the details of the publication on Hyères, a copy of which he has already sent him. He refers to his readings, such as The History of Tom Jones by Henry Fielding. Finally, he states his interest in the armed conflict in the Balkans as well as in the apparent pro-German attitude of the King of Greece, Constantine I. Of note is the use of English words and phrases in the flow of written discourse. (Hyères)
[Cavafy], Polis [Paul]Handwritten list of books and journals, compiled in three double sheet notepapers and one sheet. The year of publication of some books is recorded; a code is recorded to the left of the author's name. Non-Greek publications, mostly literary and historical; among them, a luxury Japanese edition of Cavafy's poems in French. The dates mentioned cover the period 1758-1928.
[Singopoulo, Alekos D.]Handwritten notes by Cavafy on both sides of two sheets. The poet copies excerpts from Greek and foreign literary works, both prose and poetic, with similarities among them. Most quotes are written in English and French, and some in Greek. Bibliographical references; abbreviations. The notes are placed inside a four-page folder of paperboard; the title "Coincidences of Similarities in Literary Works" is written by Cavafy in the first page. The remaining pages are blank.
