Handwritten letter by George Cavafy from Manchester. It is addressed to his brother, Peter John, the poet's father, who is in London. The letter is written on the recto of a sheet. The address of Peter John is written on the verso. The sender refers to a financial facilitation to his brother, for which he explains that he should not feel bad. He also refers to the prospect of becoming involved in commerce in Egypt.

Handwritten letter by George Cavafy from England to his brother, Peter John, in Istanbul. The letter is written on the first three pages of a double sheet notepaper. The recipient's address written in the last page. The sender refers to a misunderstanding between the two brothers, which has by now been resolved as well as to the poor financial situation of his brother. He comments on their partnership and the course of their commercial house in Egypt and in Istanbul; he asks of him to take charge of the branch in Alexandria or Cairo instead of returning to England. He proceeds to an analysis of the business plan and details financial information regarding their company.

George Cavafy refers to some family problem which he hopes will have a positive outcome as well as to an impending co-operation between the family business and that of D. Kassavetis, regarding the Egypt branches.
