Archivist's note
The transcription and editing of the letters of John Constantine Cavafy addressed to C. P. Cavafy was first carried out by Katerina Ghika; said transcriptions were subsequently uploaded to the official website of the Cavafy Archive.
Archivist's note
John writes that he does not know the "athlete Panagis" [Koutalianos], whom Cavafy has obviously mentioned in a previous letter of his. Reference to literary matters and specifically to the Greek translation of an excerpt by Washington Irving. The translation was made by John upon the request of C. P. Cavafy.
