Scope and content
Undated photographic portrait of Cavafy by the photo shop of Fettel & Bernard in Alexandria, in three copies. The poet has a mustache, he wears a suit with a necktie, and glasses. He is resting with both hands on a book placed on an ornate piece of furniture. Behind him, a seat. The logo of the photo workshop on the verso. The photograph could be dated circa 1896, due to the striking resemblance to another similar photograph, dated by Cavafy in that year.
