The author, Cavafy's cousin, expresses his admiration and interest in the poet's work, which he knows through German translations and asks to be sent his poems in Greek.               Handwritten letter by Marios Vaianos to Cavafy in a bifolio with notes on all sides except for the verso of the first sheet. Comments on the interruption of correspondence between Vaianos and Cavfy, on publications regarding the poet in newspapers and periodicals as well as on the issue of awarding a "Prize of Excellence" on behalf of the Greek Government. Reference to the Nobel Prize. The following publications are mentioned:: Eleftheron Vima, Eleftheros Logos, Filiki Etaireia, La Vie, Kallitechniki kai Filologiki Zoi, Nea Techni.               Handwritten list of books and periodicals, entitled "Taken by Peridis" and written on twelve sheets; they are all numbered at top right of the recto. Among them, a volume with translations by John Cavafy and a large number of issues of Greek and foreign newspapers and journals. It is obviously material borrowed by Michalis Peridis from the remnants of Cavafy's belongings.
