The poem on the recto is the draft of a translation by C. P. Cavafy; he translates two verses from Arthur Symons's poetry collection London Nights (Leonard C. Smithers, London 1895). In particular, Cavafy translates verses 3-4 from the first section of the poem "Lilian", entitled "Proem".
