The author comments on people from his friendly circle and the broader social circle of Alexandria as well as on events related to them. He expresses his views on the political situation in Egypt. He refers, among other things, to the publications of the works Egypt by Baron de Malortie and Arabian Nights: The Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night.
