The collection was printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in Alexandria, in 1910. It has been bound with a hardcover. Handwritten dedication by Cavafy to N. Vatimbella on the title page.

Handwritten emendations by Cavafy in some of the poems (pages "12, 20, 23, 29, 31-32, 36"). The table of contents and the last blank page are missing; the verso of the latter bore the details of the printing house (Kasimatis & Ionas). The bifolio constituting the front and back covers has been detached. The book is accompanied by two Press clippings. One is from the Tachydromos of Alexandria, dated 13/4/1958, and contains an article by Manolis Gialourakis, entitled "Perimenontas tous varvarous. Ligoselidi syllogi tou C. P. Cavafy", pertaining to the poetry collection of 1904. The other clipping, from the newspaper Vima, dated 10/10/1968, contains an article by G. N. Kranidiotis entitled "Anekdota poiimata tou Cavafy".

The poems are printed on different dates during the 1925-1930 period, and with fonts of various sizes. Five copies. Handwritten dedication by Cavafy to the playwright Pantelis Horn in the title page of one of the copies. The inserted sheet of this copy contains the titles of three poems, handwritten. Number "5" in the dates "1905" and "1915" on the front cover is handwritten rather than printed. Handwritten dedication by Cavafy to Kostas Miniakis in the title page of the second copy. Its cover is of a different colour from that of the other two copies.

Handwritten list with chronological indications (1891-1912) and poem titles, on 13 pieces of paper of various sizes. Several titles are abbreviated. Some chronological records are indicated as "rewriting" and are accompanied by the title of the poem to which they refer. Cancellations and emendations throughout the list. Apart from three parts of the item, the rest bear writing (by hand or printed) on either side. The versos of five parts of the item have a different theme (not a chronological list). Handwritten chronological table containing poems of the period August 1891 - 1925 period, in five loose double sheet notepapers. The right half of the blank second sheet of the fourth notepaper has been cut off. The last page of the fifth notepaper is blank.

Handwritten notes with comments by Cavafy on the French translations of his poems, recorded by another person (most probably Rica Singopoulo), since he is mentioned in the text as "C.". The text is written on two separate sheets –recto and verso–, one of which is a letterhead of the journal Alexandrini Techni and bears a printed date indication 193[..]. Extensive commentary on the poems "Ithaca" (Ithaque), "The City" (La ville) and "Ides of March" (Les ides de Mars). Cancellations and emendations.

Handwritten letter by Cavafy to Napoleon Lapathiotis on both sides of a sheet and on one side of a second sheet. Cavafy thanks Lapathiotis for his appreciation and support to his work, and informs him that he is sending two poetry collections of his. He encloses a handwritten list with the publications of earlier poems in issues of the journal Nea Techni. Accompanied by envelope with Lapathiotis' address in Athens. (Alexandria)

Dalven asks Singopoulo's permission to publish poems by Cavafy in an anthology of modern Greek poetry she is preparing in English.
