The author asks Cavafy, whom he considers the greatest of all Greek poets, to write a study on contemporary Greek poetry (19th-20th cen.), to be published in the Revue de Paris; he offers to facilitate him in anything he might need, should he decide to accept. Reference to the Revue de Paris and to Cavafy's 1907-1915 and 1916-1926 collections; commentary on issues of translating works of poetry into French. Accompanied by the envelope which contained the letter, with the recipient's name in French. (Paris)

              Handwritten letter by Cavafy to Constantin Photiadès on both sides of a sheet. The poet thanks the recipient for the letter he sent him as well as for the appreciation he expresses for his poetry. Cavafy rejects a proposal by Photiadès to prepare a study for the Revue de Paris and informs him about the despatch of two poetry collections of his. (Alexandria)

              Handwritten list of books and periodicals, entitled "Taken by Peridis" and written on twelve sheets; they are all numbered at top right of the recto. Among them, a volume with translations by John Cavafy and a large number of issues of Greek and foreign newspapers and journals. It is obviously material borrowed by Michalis Peridis from the remnants of Cavafy's belongings.
