            Manuscript by Alekos Singopoulo on the recto of 43 sheets and papers of various sizes. Blank verso. Page numbering 1 to 44, corrected on some of the pages. Pages 25-28 are missing, as well as the end of the text. The papers include: clipping from the newspaper Nea Zoi (1912) with poems by Malakasis and Ugo Foscolo, pp. 153-154; clipping from an issue of the O Noumas (1920) with fragment of a poem; the poem "Ithaca", printed on two sheets in 1917; printed broadsheet with Cavafy's poem "Dangerous" (1919). Singopoulo's text is preceded by an unnumbered sheet with the poem "Fthinoporini Fysi". This is the text of a lecture delivered by Singopoulo on 10/6/1920 at the hall of the Greek Secondary School Alumni Association (of the Averoff Secondary School and the Salvageios School of Commerce), on the work by seven Modern Greek poets.

Reference to the Grammata publishing house of Alexandria, to Cavafy's collection (the Collection 1907-1915 is referred to by name) as well as the newspaper I Laiki Foni newspaper of Volos. The messages usually pertain to a meeting among them or some other sort of favour.

An unsigned article on the first page refers to the first meeting of the literary and artistic group "La Lanterne Sourde Egyptienne" of Paul Vanderborght in Cairo. Reference to an impending event in honour of Cavafy, "one of the greatest poets of contemporary Greece, alongside Palamas". The relevant lines are marked and underlined. Vanderborght had informed Cavafy by letter about this event, so the article may be dated to 1929.

It appears that the notes were written after the poet's death and the information comes from Singopoulo's own knowledge as well as from the remains of Cavafy's belongings. Certain inaccuracies are observed, such as the poet's date of birth (1865 instead of 1863).

The handwriting is not the poet's (it is most likely Rica Singopoulo's). The folder contains handwritten notes by Cavafy on nine sheets, four double sheet notepapers and two printed broadsheets. Quotes from poems by Palamas, Nirvanas, Solomos, Gryparis etc, as well as from folk songs and prose texts. Bibliographical references. The two broadsheets, bearing the same fragment of a poem by Cavafy, were printed in 1920. Also, reference to a 1925 print.

            Handwriten notes on eight sheets of a notebook (most of which with text on both sides) as well as on one side of four small-size loose sheets. It is a record of thoughts, criticisms and episodes from Cavafy's life with date indications covering the period 28 March 1926-16 April 1930. Reference to the Grammata publishing house, to the journals Libre, Nea Zoi, Nea Techni, Panathinaia, Alexandrini Techni, Nea Epitheorisi and La Semaine égyptienne, to the newspapers I Proia, Tachydromos of Alexandria, Ethnos and The Times as well as to the Delphic Festival, the Nobel Prize, the work I politeia kai i monaxia by K. Palamas, the study O Palamas filosofos by D. Vezanis, the poem "Tragoudi gia tin Eleni" by S. Skipis and the books Skepsi kai zoi by A. Panagiotatou and [Ta gynaikeia pathi.] Afrodisia nosimata by A. Syngelakis. Eftychia Zelita is mentioned as having written down the notes. The date "12.9.'11" entered on the card indicates the time it was received (which coincides with the dates on the mail rubber stamps). Handwritten indication "27Α".             Seven editions of the Paris newspaper Le Matin and five editions of another Paris newspaper, Le Journal. They are accompanied by a piece of paperboard with the note "Les Noces Blanches", written by Cavafy. It is about the case of a scandal involving homosexuals in the atelier of the British painter Ernest Bulton, at Montparnasse, Paris. The police arrested the participants and the incident was considered a scandal. The newspapers referred to it using the title "Noces blanches" (white weddings). Cavafy follows the case through articles in the two newspapers.
