The collection was printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in Alexandria, in 1910. It has been bound with a hardcover. Handwritten dedication by Cavafy to N. Vatimbella on the title page.

It contains 21 poems and comprises a total of 46 pages, of which 3 to 39 are sequentially numbered; [40] is blank, without numbering and followed by pages 41-42 with the Contents. Two copies. One of the copies contains an inserted sheet with the poem "Walls" on the recto and page number "40". The poem is written by Rica Singopoulo and is not included in print in any of the copies. Its title has been filled-in by hand in the table of contents as well (page 42). Handwritten dedication by Cavafy Vlasis Gavriilidis in the title page of the second copy. Each copy is printed on paper of different quality.

The collection contains twenty-one poems. Page numbers are indicated ("3" to "39") at centre bottom of the sheets. Handwritten emendations by Cavafy in some of the poems (pages "12, 20, 23, 29, 31-32, 36"). The table of contents and the last blank page are missing; the verso of the latter bore the details of the printing house (Kasimatis & Ionas). The bifolio constituting the front and back covers has been detached. The book is accompanied by two Press clippings. One is from the Tachydromos of Alexandria, dated 13/4/1958, and contains an article by Manolis Gialourakis, entitled "Perimenontas tous varvarous. Ligoselidi syllogi tou C. P. Cavafy", pertaining to the poetry collection of 1904. The other clipping, from the newspaper Vima, dated 10/10/1968, contains an article by G. N. Kranidiotis entitled "Anekdota poiimata tou Cavafy".

Handwritten chronological table containing poems of the period August 1891 - 1925 period, in five loose double sheet notepapers. The right half of the blank second sheet of the fourth notepaper has been cut off. The last page of the fifth notepaper is blank.

Handwritten letter by Cavafy to Marios Vaianos on all sides of bifolio. The poet refers with satisfaction to an event to be held in Athens on him and his work as well as to a relevant lecture by Alkis Thrylos. He praises the literary work of Vaianos and informs him about the despatch of poems of his. Accompanied by the verso of an envelope with the recipient's address in Athens. (Alexandria)

Handwritten letter by Cavafy to Napoleon Lapathiotis on both sides of a sheet and on one side of a second sheet. Cavafy thanks Lapathiotis for his appreciation and support to his work, and informs him that he is sending two poetry collections of his. He encloses a handwritten list with the publications of earlier poems in issues of the journal Nea Techni. Accompanied by envelope with Lapathiotis' address in Athens. (Alexandria)

Handwritten letter by Raphael Demos to Takis Kalmouchos on both sides of a sheet. The sender, professor of philosophy at Harvard University and translator of Cavafy's poems, asks Kalmouchos to send him a draft printout of the planned publication of the poet's Complete Works. The letter is accompanied by two pages from the journal The New Republic containing the English translations of the poems "Waiting for the Barbarians" and "Thermopylae", together with a brief introduction to the life and work of Cavafy. Handwritten letter by Tellos Agras to Cavafy in a bifolio of the Ministry of Agriculture (the printed details have been crossed out) with notes on all sides. Cavafy's poetic work is commented upon extensively; remarks regarding the publications until that time and reference to poem titles ("Candles", "Waiting for the Barbarians" etc.). Also recorded are the author's views on the genre classification of Cavafy's work as well as his intention to proceed with a relevant publication. (Athens)

They are likely (interpretative?) comments by Cavafy on one of his poems or on poems of his or general thoughts on his on poetry.

Handwritten English translation of the poems "Thermopylae" ("The[rmopylae]") and "Che fece... il gran rifiuto" on the first page of a bifolio. The English translation of the poem "The Horses of Achilles" on the third page. The second and fourth pages are blank. Extensive use of abbreviations. All translations have been written down by Cavafy.
