The collection was printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in Alexandria, in 1910. It has been bound with a hardcover. Handwritten dedication by Cavafy to N. Vatimbella on the title page.

One of the copies contains an inserted sheet with the poem "Walls" on the recto and page number "40". The poem is written by Rica Singopoulo and is not included in print in any of the copies. Its title has been filled-in by hand in the table of contents as well (page 42). Handwritten dedication by Cavafy Vlasis Gavriilidis in the title page of the second copy. Each copy is printed on paper of different quality.

The collection contains twenty-one poems. Page numbers are indicated ("3" to "39") at centre bottom of the sheets. Handwritten emendations by Cavafy in some of the poems (pages "12, 20, 23, 29, 31-32, 36"). The table of contents and the last blank page are missing; the verso of the latter bore the details of the printing house (Kasimatis & Ionas). The bifolio constituting the front and back covers has been detached. The book is accompanied by two Press clippings. One is from the Tachydromos of Alexandria, dated 13/4/1958, and contains an article by Manolis Gialourakis, entitled "Perimenontas tous varvarous. Ligoselidi syllogi tou C. P. Cavafy", pertaining to the poetry collection of 1904. The other clipping, from the newspaper Vima, dated 10/10/1968, contains an article by G. N. Kranidiotis entitled "Anekdota poiimata tou Cavafy".

Handwritten list with chronological indications (1891-1912) and poem titles, on 13 pieces of paper of various sizes. Several titles are abbreviated. Some chronological records are indicated as "rewriting" and are accompanied by the title of the poem to which they refer. Cancellations and emendations throughout the list. Apart from three parts of the item, the rest bear writing (by hand or printed) on either side. The versos of five parts of the item have a different theme (not a chronological list). Handwritten letter by Cavafy to Constantin Photiadès on the first three pages of a bifolio. The last page is blank. The poet replies to a letter by Photiadès and expresses his thanks for the latter's appreciation. He praises and extensively comments on the book by Photiadès on Maria Kalergi, often using short quotes in French. He also praises and comments on another book by Photiadès, on the French poet Pierre de Ronsard. Finally, he informs the sender about the despatch of three of his poems in Greek and of six French translations by Aison Kyriacopoulo and Rica Singopoulo. The poet refers with satisfaction to an event to be held in Athens on him and his work as well as to a relevant lecture by Alkis Thrylos. Cavafy thanks Lapathiotis for his appreciation and support to his work, and informs him that he is sending two poetry collections of his. He encloses a handwritten list with the publications of earlier poems in issues of the journal Nea Techni. Accompanied by envelope with Lapathiotis' address in Athens. (Alexandria)
