              Homemade leather-bound volume, comprising typewritten and printed poems. On the cover, the title "Cavafy Poems" in gold letters. On the "title page" (made of a cover from the 1910 poetry collection of Cavafy) the title "C. P. Cavafy Poems" and the indication "Alexandria 1910" as well as the note "[Englished by J. C. Cavafy]", handwritten by John Cavafy below the word "Poems". On the interior of the cover, another handwritten note by John Cavafy dated "14 May 1911". It is followed by the poems, each with the printed text in Greek and the typewritten English translation. The page numbering is common for both languages. The Greek text of the poem "The City" on a page cut off from the journal Nea Zoi and that of the poem "The God Abandons Antony" on a page cut off from the journal Grammata. Four pages of contents in Greek and in English, numbered "41" and "42". The pages of contents in Greek have been cut off from a printed poetry collection. They are followed by the English translations of another five poems, without page numbering. A total of twenty-six poems have been translated. Handwritten cancellations and emendations in the typewritten poems.

              Homemade book consisting of typewritten sheets, printed broadsheets and manuscripts. The "title page" is made of a cover from the 1910 poetry collection of Cavafy, with the printed title "C. P. Cavafy's Poems" and the indication "Alexandria 1910". Below the word "Poems", the handwritten note by John Cavafy "Englished by J. C. Cavafy". It is preceded by a quote of unknown authorship and followed by four pages of contents, with the poem titles in English. They are followed by the English translations of the poems. A total of forty-three of Cavafy's poems are translated. Their titles are either typewritten or handwritten. In some instances, there are inserted printed broadsheets with the poems in Greek or parts of prints affixed on the existing pages. Cancellations and emendations in most translations, be they handwritten or typewritten. The date indication "1912" on one of the broadsheets. The 71 pages of the book are numbered, either typewritten or handwritten. The printed broadsheets are not included in the page numbering. The front and back covers are blank.

It contains 21 poems and comprises a total of 46 pages, of which 3 to 39 are sequentially numbered; [40] is blank, without numbering and followed by pages 41-42 with the Contents. Two copies. One of the copies contains an inserted sheet with the poem "Walls" on the recto and page number "40". The poem is written by Rica Singopoulo and is not included in print in any of the copies. Its title has been filled-in by hand in the table of contents as well (page 42). Handwritten dedication by Cavafy Vlasis Gavriilidis in the title page of the second copy. Each copy is printed on paper of different quality.

The word "Poems", in the centre of the first page. The collection contains twenty-one poems. Page numbers are indicated ("3" to "39") at centre bottom of the sheets. Handwritten emendations by Cavafy in some of the poems (pages "12, 20, 23, 29, 31-32, 36"). The table of contents and the last blank page are missing; the verso of the latter bore the details of the printing house (Kasimatis & Ionas). The bifolio constituting the front and back covers has been detached. The book is accompanied by two Press clippings. One is from the Tachydromos of Alexandria, dated 13/4/1958, and contains an article by Manolis Gialourakis, entitled "Perimenontas tous varvarous. Ligoselidi syllogi tou C. P. Cavafy", pertaining to the poetry collection of 1904. The other clipping, from the newspaper Vima, dated 10/10/1968, contains an article by G. N. Kranidiotis entitled "Anekdota poiimata tou Cavafy".

Apart from three parts of the item, the rest bear writing (by hand or printed) on either side. The versos of five parts of the item have a different theme (not a chronological list). The first page of the letter is written on the verso of a printed broadsheet of the poem "That Is He", which contains an emendation. The second page, numbered at top right, is written on the verso of a printed broadsheet with fragment of the poem "Morning Sea", which also contains an emendation. The second draft of the letter is written in Greek, on both sides of two ruled sheets. Pages 3 and 4 are numbered at top left. Both draft letters refer to the English translations by Edwards of the poems "Walls", "Candles" and "Song of Ionia". Handwritten copies of the English translations of the three aforementioned poems by Cavafy on the recto of three ruled sheets, with the translator's name noted.
