Inside, two blank sheets and then 25 broadsheets, all numbered by hand at top right of the recto; 24 of them are printed. The poem "Alexandrian Kings" handwritten on two sheets with page numbering "13α', β'". The verso of all broadsheets is blank, except for that of sheet 13α' which bears a handwritten note by Cavafy. Handwritten cancellation and emendation in one of the poems ("Far Off", sheet 23). The poems are followed by a blank sheet and a printed table of contents in chronological order, in two columns. The broadsheets were printed at two different printing houses (Kasimatis & Ionas and M. C. Fakos) and date to 1914 and 1915.

The printed broadsheets containing the poems follow, numbered at top right of the recto (1 to 59 – sheets 7 and 56 are missing). The numbering is mostly printed, in a few instances handwritten, and in some it has been corrected by hand. The verso of all broadsheets is blank. The poems are followed by a blank sheet and printed table of contents in chronological order, in two columns. The contents page is part of the sheet also containing the title page. The poem titles are preceded by a mark in pencil. The 1919 titles are crossed out, while three of them are handwritten. Two 1919 poem titles and a 1920 poem title are handwritten on the verso of the contents page and have been crossed out. The broadsheets were printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house (Alexandria) during the 1917-1920 period (five of them also mention the month of printing: two in July 1919, and one each in September 1919, December 1919 and March 1920).

On the third page, the penultimate of the document, the titles of the translated poems, by way of an index. The poems contained (a total of 11) are fewer than the poems in the index (12). Handwritten corrections on the typewritten text. The title "But Wise Men Apprehend What Is Imminent", the quote before the poem and the index are all written in Greek.

All poems are accompanied by the company name of the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in Alexandria; they were printed during the period 1915-1916. Printed and handwritten page numbers with pencil on the top right on recto. A hole at the top left on recto of all sheets indicates that they used to be bound by a paperclip. No front cover, back cover or table of contents.

Handwritten notes with comments by Cavafy on the French translations of his poems, recorded by another person (most probably Rica Singopoulo), since he is mentioned in the text as "C.". The text is written on two separate sheets –recto and verso–, one of which is a letterhead of the journal Alexandrini Techni and bears a printed date indication 193[..]. Extensive commentary on the poems "Ithaca" (Ithaque), "The City" (La ville) and "Ides of March" (Les ides de Mars). Cancellations and emendations.

Affixed on the page, using two English postage stamps, a print entitled "Poems by C. P. Cavafy. Translated, from the Greek, by J. C. Cavafy" and the indication "Alexandria 1918". It is followed by two pages of contents and the poems in English. The titles of the four last poems on the second page of contents are handwritten.
