On the cover, the title "Cavafy Poems" in gold letters inside a gold border. On the "title page", the note "Poems written in Greek by C. P. Cavafy translated by J. C. Cavafy" and the indication "Alexandria 1916". It is followed by five pages of contents and the poems in English. The pages are numbered ("i-v" and "1-64") at bottom centre. The volume includes forty-three poems, all typewritten. Only in two instances, when a quote from an ancient author is include, the Greek text has been handwritten by John Cavafy. In that case, John has added his English translation, copied from a publication, on an piece of paper covering the Greek text.
