The translations which are not written by the poet are most likely written by Valassopoulo. Cavafy corrects Valassopoulo's translations and incorporates the corrections into written up copies, which he sends to Forster.

It is a reply to a previous letter by Singopoulo, along with which the sender appears to have also received works by Cavafy. Positive comments on the style and language of Cavafy's poetry and its reception England. Mention of the poet's poor health and his hospitalisation in Athens. In a postscript, Dawkins asks Singopoulo's assistance in locating a publication on Greek popular poetry (Ν. Mavris / E. Papadopoulos, Dodekanisiaki lyra. Tomos protos. Kasiaki lyra, itoi dimodis poiisis kai mousiki tis nisou Kasou. Port Said 1928, print. Nea Icho). The citation, in Greek, is not written by the author, who has made handwritten additions in English. Emendations in the typewritten text. The postscript is written on a smaller piece of paper - it is possible that it was added after the main text had been finalised by its author. (Oxford)

English translation of the poem "Tomb of Lanes", in five typewritten copies. One of them bears handwritten emendations and changes made by the poet, which have been incorporated in the other typewritten copies, and mentions G. Valassopoulo as translator. Another typewritten copy mentions, below the text, G. Valassopoulo and "Ε.M.F." (obviously E. M. Forster) as translators. Another typewritten copy mentions: "Translated by V. F. C." (the words, except for the first one, have been handwritten by Cavafy). They are most likely the initials of Valassopoulo, Forster and Cavafy. Clipping from a printed broadsheet with the handwritten date 1926, which contains on one side the translation of two verses of the poem and is also handwritten by Cavafy.
