Homemade book consisting of typewritten sheets, printed broadsheets and manuscripts. The "title page" is made of a cover from the 1910 poetry collection of Cavafy, with the printed title "C. P. Cavafy's Poems" and the indication "Alexandria 1910". Below the word "Poems", the handwritten note by John Cavafy "Englished by J. C. Cavafy". It is preceded by a quote of unknown authorship and followed by four pages of contents, with the poem titles in English. They are followed by the English translations of the poems. A total of forty-three of Cavafy's poems are translated. Their titles are either typewritten or handwritten. In some instances, there are inserted printed broadsheets with the poems in Greek or parts of prints affixed on the existing pages. Cancellations and emendations in most translations, be they handwritten or typewritten. The date indication "1912" on one of the broadsheets. Alexandria 1910-1915", handwritten by the poet. The original date was "1914", corrected to read "1915" in ink of a different colour. Inside, two blank sheets and then 25 broadsheets, all numbered by hand at top right of the recto; 24 of them are printed. The poem "Alexandrian Kings" handwritten on two sheets with page numbering "13α', β'". The verso of all broadsheets is blank, except for that of sheet 13α' which bears a handwritten note by Cavafy. The poems are followed by a blank sheet and a printed table of contents in chronological order, in two columns. The contents page is part of the sheet also containing the title page. The 1916 titles are handwritten by Cavafy, except for the first one. The 1917 poem titles are also handwritten as well as those of 1918, which are written on the verso of the contents page. The broadsheets were printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in the period 1914-1918. Two of them, "Far Off" (No 23) and "One Night" (No 28), also bear a first print indication (1914 and 1915, respectively).

The poet replies to a letter by Photiadès and expresses his thanks for the latter's appreciation. He praises and extensively comments on the book by Photiadès on Maria Kalergi, often using short quotes in French. He also praises and comments on another book by Photiadès, on the French poet Pierre de Ronsard. Finally, he informs the sender about the despatch of three of his poems in Greek and of six French translations by Aison Kyriacopoulo and Rica Singopoulo. The papers include: clipping from the newspaper Nea Zoi (1912) with poems by Malakasis and Ugo Foscolo, pp. 153-154; clipping from an issue of the O Noumas (1920) with fragment of a poem; the poem "Ithaca", printed on two sheets in 1917; printed broadsheet with Cavafy's poem "Dangerous" (1919). Singopoulo's text is preceded by an unnumbered sheet with the poem "Fthinoporini Fysi". This is the text of a lecture delivered by Singopoulo on 10/6/1920 at the hall of the Greek Secondary School Alumni Association (of the Averoff Secondary School and the Salvageios School of Commerce), on the work by seven Modern Greek poets.

The text, an extensive analysis of Cavafy's poetic work, is divided into ten units, numbered in Roman numerals. Sheets 2-11 are numbered at top right. Some words and phrases are underlined. Location and date indication as well as the author's signature at the end of the text.
