The volume includes forty-three poems, all typewritten. Only in two instances, when a quote from an ancient author is include, the Greek text has been handwritten by John Cavafy. In that case, John has added his English translation, copied from a publication, on an piece of paper covering the Greek text.

            Cavafy's poetry collection containing 46 poems of the 1919-1926 period, without front cover or table of contents. It consists of printed broadsheets, the first of which ("But Wise Men Apprehend What Is Imminent") is not numbered. The numbering of the rest of the sheets starts at 16 and is sequential through to 60; in some instances it has been corrected in ink by the poet. Handwritten emendation in one of the poems ("Demaratus", 55β΄) and cancellations in some of the printed dates (No 47, 50-52). The broadsheets were printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house during the 1919-1926 period. Some of the broadsheets also mention the month of printing (June, July, September, December 1919; June, August, October, December 1920; March, June, September, December 1921; February 1922). The verso of all broadsheets is blank.

The numbering is printed but in most sheets it has been crossed out and corrected by hand. There is no cover or title page. Printed page with table of contents on the recto, containing poems of the period 1915-1920 in two columns. Titles of 1920 and 1921 poems added by Cavafy at the end of the second column and on the verso. The broadsheets were printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in Alexandria during the 1917-1921 period, using fonts of different sizes and on papers of various qualities and colours. Handwritten emendations by Cavafy in the text of three poems and in the date of two others. Holes at top left of all sheets caused by metal paperclip.

            Poetry collection by Cavafy, comprising 69 bound broadsheets; they were printed at the Kasimatis & Ionas printing house in the period 1918-1922. It contains 60 poems, sequentially numbered (2-60) at top right of the recto of the sheets. The numbering is printed, corrected on several instances in ink by the poet. Cancellations and emendations or additions by Cavafy in some of the poems. The verso of all sheets is blank. A hole at top left of the recto of all sheets indicates that they were initially bound using a paperclip. There is no front cover (although it appears that it originally existed), rear cover or table of contents. The paper is of varying colour and quality. Some of the broadsheets also have an annotation of the particular month in which they were printed (June, July, September, December 1919; June, August, October, December 1920; March, June, September, December 1921; February 1922).
