It is the English translation of one of Cavafy's poems, originally written in French, made and recorded by his brother, John.

Cavafy]", handwritten by John Cavafy below the word "Poems". On the interior of the cover, another handwritten note by John Cavafy dated "14 May 1911". It is followed by the poems, each with the printed text in Greek and the typewritten English translation. The page numbering is common for both languages. The Greek text of the poem "The City" on a page cut off from the journal Nea Zoi and that of the poem "The God Abandons Antony" on a page cut off from the journal Grammata. Four pages of contents in Greek and in English, numbered "41" and "42". The pages of contents in Greek have been cut off from a printed poetry collection. The "title page" is made of a cover from the 1910 poetry collection of Cavafy, with the printed title "C. P. Cavafy's Poems" and the indication "Alexandria 1910". Below the word "Poems", the handwritten note by John Cavafy "Englished by J. C. Cavafy". It is preceded by a quote of unknown authorship and followed by four pages of contents, with the poem titles in English. They are followed by the English translations of the poems. A total of forty-three of Cavafy's poems are translated. Their titles are either typewritten or handwritten. In some instances, there are inserted printed broadsheets with the poems in Greek or parts of prints affixed on the existing pages. Cancellations and emendations in most translations, be they handwritten or typewritten. The date indication "1912" on one of the broadsheets. The 71 pages of the book are numbered, either typewritten or handwritten. The printed broadsheets are not included in the page numbering. The front and back covers are blank.

Cavafy Poems", and the indication "Alexandria 1915-1925". The last date is written by the poet. On the last page of the paper bifolio, handwritten dedication by Cavafy to A. Vlachopoulos. A blank sheet follows; eighty-four loose broadsheets and another blank sheet, all initially bound with paperclip, as indicated by the holes at top left of each sheet. At top right of the recto of the broadsheets, sequential printed numbering ("2" to "76"), occasionally corrected by the poet. Between sheets "17" and "18", inserted sheet with polygraphed typewritten translation of the poem "One of Their Gods" by G. Valassopoulo, with notes by Cavafy. Fifteen poems have been translated. Few cancellations and emendations. Some of the emendations on small-size papers, pasted on the emended word or phrase. The metal staples of the binding are missing. The unmarked cover is made of paperboard.
